The fabled ancient city of Allestia, deep within the forbidding deserts of Stygia had long been home to the reclusive Daughters of Hecate. For centuries it had lain hidden, the haven of forbidden and powerful magics not the high, proud towers of the arrogant mage cities of Stygia, but hidden and safe from prying eyes.
A network of caves hid the witches and people of the clan from prying or malicious eyes and allowed them the ability to appear and dissapear seemingly to nowhere, adding to their considerable mystique.
Inside the central cavern, hollowed by sorcery and tools the city proper began. The rocky ceiling both shielding them from the hellish desert sun and lighting their doings with captured light of star and moon. The city of starlight was magnificent, glittering like pearls and diamonds for those fortunate enough to live within.
In their hidden ivory towers the witches grew bold, arrogant. Blatently striking down the servants of Set with an impunity born of their confidence in their hiding skills.
Finally thier arrogance made them the target of Thoth-Amon's rising slave army. Using his ancient enemies hidden city as a field test for the vanguard of his acheronian warriors the impenatrable maze of tunnels were methodically searched, at an apalling cost in his utterly expendable soldiers as they were blown up, cut down, struck by mystical lightning, plagues and disease. Battling scores of risen dead they finally surrounded the city and took much of the population as slaves. Including their Queen, Medea.
