Why do you want to join the Daughters of Hecate?
I am looking for a RP guild to expand my horizons, (However limited they currently are) that also adhere to the game's original Lore or at least in the case of "Daughters of Hecate" a branching lore.
In other words a basis with a foundation in structured hierarchy and sense of play. (Played way too many MMO's with mixed caste and no sense or appreciation of immersion.)
I like to RP, but I do lack the higher functions of creativity, although others have complimented on my effort, in other RP games/communities. (A gentle...shove and some book-worming usually gets my brain in gear)
Looking over the limited RP guilds around, "Daughters of Hecate" fits best with my eventual play-style, (Didn't manage to get into beta due to RL reasons - Wife gave birth to our second child) and story backdrop. Which interests me suitably to apply for a position.
Although the actual game is not yet released. I would be lying if the lack of actual interests in this guild didn't bring up concerns, but I am willing to tough it out and see what a few months after release brings.
Explain in a few words what Roleplaying means?
Roll-playing to me, is purely escapism from Real Life, and immersing ones self into an alternate line of time and/or space.
made all the more pleasurable with the company of friends thinking and interacting for a common purpose, on a subject matter that interests us. Not unlike actors, (Although gaming RPers don't get paid...)
What class, gender and race will your character be?
This is the tricky part. I do not have the full information on character classes and their associated abilities and feats, etc. So a definitive answer can not be founded, without either actual game time or outside help. (The official web/fan site is a little vague in the full aspects of each class and their capabilities.)
I will say this however:
Most MMo's allow at least 2 characters on the same server, without the need to create (and pay for) another account.
So my initial plan, is to create and bring in two characters into the guild. - I tend to do that alot. Stops me burning out, or messing up on one character. And a change is always good.
So:
Character One: Main. (Name pending, but will probably incorporate in some form, my forum name)
Class: Undecided, but will probably follow the Rogue/Warrior line.
Gender: Male.
Race: Undecided. I was thinking along the lines of a Cimmerian. Offspring from an ostracised and out-casted parentage that sought out refuge and religious Solis from the Stygian people, and in particular the Clan; "Daughters of Hecate". Born of Cimmerian and Stygian blood.
Character Two: Alt. (Name pending- Probably something Ancient Egyptian inspired)
Class: Necromancer or Herald of Xolti. -Need to experiment in-game to make final choice.
Gender: Female.
Race: Stygian.
Write a short history of your characters life in the clan, if they were born there, or a short history of how your character came to join the clan if you were an outsider or one of their servants?
"Rough Draft" - Nothing cemented in concrete, yet
Isfet-Acacios was born into the family of Nekhbet. Although not of true Stygian blood. The family is still regarded with respect and pride, With his Cimmerian Father holding a dignified position as a priest. it came as no surprise when the delivery of an obviously strong and healthy male did not lessen that respect.
Young Isfet was schooled in the Stygian arts of Warrior-ship as a boy, and demonstrated great skill and adeptness to the constant fluidity, that is close combat.
However! it was noticed by not only his class-mates, and teachers, but also to the high council and Elder peers, that His aggressive and "Hot-headed"Cimmerian blood also wanted to express it's desires.
This "Passion", at first, put young Isfet at odds with his structured and ordered schooling, resulting in some harsh punishment, which only fueled his Cimmerian temperament, and lead to some heated debates in the halls of the Elders.
However! It was soon made apparent, that Isfets' "Passion", in the Arena of Combat gained him the edge in all the stand-offs and tournaments held. His aggressive tendencies, poked severe holes and made very apparent some glaring weaknesses in the Stygian art of warrior-ship.
After isfets' Graduation on his 14th birthday. He was bestowed the honour of Master Teacher in Armed Combat. And he was instrumental in re-structuring the way Stygian Warriors fought, but also changed the curriculum on the very foundations of their teaching. No mean feat for a half-blood.
During the first Hyborian war, Isfet was put second in command of one of the Dark legions of Hecate, which helped to annihilate the 12th Sect Army of Set, that invaded, the City of Khemi, in the Khopshef province.
This victory paved the way for Isfet to pursue more "Domestic" affairs with little or no opposition due to his lineage and bloodline. Effectively Moving his amorous affections above the mere peasant stock, and made him eligible for marriage into the middle caste of aristocracy.
Isfets' Social and political status now secured. It is time to think of the future and the strength that is the Stygian Clan, "Daughters of Hecate"!
"End Script"
I have not thought far enough along on the "Alt" character.
Do you promise to uphold the roleplaying server rules issued by Funcom when they are finalized?
I wholeheartedly promise to do so.
